At Vitalign the initial consultation is $95, which includes a thorough examination and a personalised plan. Ongoing costs depend on your treatment plan — what's involved varies from person to person, and we'll give you a clear picture once you've been assessed. Payment plans are available. All health funds can be claimed on the spot through our HICAPS terminal, so you only pay the gap. Please confirm current fees when you book.

About 30 minutes, in three parts: a full history of what is going on and what it is stopping you doing; a physical examination of how your spine is moving and loading, with neurological and orthopaedic testing where relevant; and then a clear explanation of what we found and what we would recommend.

Serious adverse events are rare. The most common effect is mild, short-lived soreness after a visit. Safety comes mostly from case selection — examining properly, recognising presentations where manual treatment is not appropriate, and referring rather than treating when that is the right call. Low-force techniques are available if you would prefer them.

No. Chiropractic is a primary contact profession in Australia, so you can book directly. WorkCover Queensland and Department of Veterans' Affairs claims involve different paperwork — we are a registered provider for both and our front desk will walk you through it.

Most commonly low back and neck pain, headaches, sciatica, disc-related problems, postural strain from desk work, sporting injuries, and injuries following car accidents. Whether we can help with yours specifically is what the first visit establishes — and if we cannot, we will say so.

Depending on the findings: adjustment of specific joints where movement has been lost, soft tissue work to the surrounding musculature, prescribed rehabilitation exercise, and practical advice on loading and ergonomics. At Vitalign that may also include cold laser therapy or a course of spinal decompression.

It depends on how long the problem has been there and what is driving it. Rather than commit you to a number on day one, we set a review point and measure against it. If it is not working, we would rather change the plan — or tell you we are not the right people — than keep booking appointments.

If you have a musculoskeletal problem that is not settling on its own, it is reasonable to have it assessed. It is also worth discussing with your GP, particularly if you have other health conditions. Chiropractic works well for many people, and it is not the answer for everyone — the assessment is where you find out which applies to you.

Yes. All health funds can be claimed on the spot through our HICAPS terminal, so you only pay the gap on the day. Bring your card.

We will tell you. Part of the first visit is working out whether what you have is something we can help with. If it is not — or if something in the examination suggests you should see a GP, a specialist or an emergency department — you will get a clear explanation and a specific recommendation.
